smurf hands ....
I bought a bottle of blue hair dye at Hot Topic a couple months ago and it's been sitting in my bathroom cabinet ever since. Yesterday, I decided it was time to use it. There was just one problem. My hair didn't take the color. My hands took the color just fine when I was washing it out, but my hair is just the same as it was before. However, I do have a couple of blue spots on my scalp......

I guess if I want to experiment with wild and wacky hair hues, I'm going to have to strip my hair. I actually do have a hair-stripping kit, but I'm not really sure I want to do that to my hair right now.....

If you don't bleach first, the color won't show at all. Only prob, is your hair is very dark. It will probably only get to an orangey color by bleaching, plus then it will feel like straw. Orange plus blue = ewww. I recommend some extensions for blue streaks instead.

yeah, I have no desire to strip/bleach my hair these days. Actually, my hair holds up quite well even with frequent and extreme bleaching, but I don't want to do wild colors permanently. If I were going to go for a lighter color that I wanted to have for a long time, like red or something, then I'd have no problem bleaching my hair to do that. But I'm not gonna go to trouble of stripping it to have blue hair for only a month or two......

Whenever Richie gets back in town from NOLA he is da man as far as extensions...and won't charge you a month's rent like the salon will.

I did that once, with Special Effects Deep Purple. It took EVERYWHERE on my body, except for my hair. I was purple. My tub was purple. I cried.
